The Motor Unit
This motor unit is the basic functional element of
the neuromuscular system. It consists of the following
components:
• Anterior horn cell (motor nerve cell body)
• Motor nerve axons
• Peripheral nerve
• Neuromuscular junction
• Muscle fibers
